Happy 2009 all! This is the year that I finally get to my goal weight. The holidays were brutal. I ate low carb only a quarter of the time and I felt like hell almost the entire time.
As I’ve been back on low carb, and even no carb (or as close as I can get) this past week, I’ve been feeling better and better. I know that once I’ve fully adapted I will feel excellent. So far, no weight has budged, but I suspect that this is due to the amount of coffee I’ve been drinking (back up to a pot or more a day). I’m going to do some research on caffeine. I’d read that it is coffee alone and not caffeine that caused blood sugar issues and that this was due to some oil in the coffee bean that is not present in instant. I’ll see if I can track down a reliable source for this info, but I suppose it may be faster and easier just to try a week with instant and see how it goes. Instant coffee seems like such a travesty compared to real coffee, but I think it is better than no coffee.
I ended up somewhere in the neighborhood of 80% fat yesterday but I ate and ate and ate. I’m just now starting to get hungry at noon (CST) and my last meal was at 9:00 PM CST last night. That meal was an aweful lot of macadamia nuts. I love them so much that I find it hard to stop eating them once I start. This is where a majority of my carbs came from.
I’ve found some really interesting info about zero carb diets (I’m not talking weight reduction here, I’m using diet in the general sense of what people eat day to day) that I plan on posting later.
I sincerely hope that everyone has an excellent 2009 and I intend to make 2009 the leanest and fittest year I’ve ever had.
