So, I thought I’d talk a bit about my Sunday “ritual” of fasting. There is no religious significance. It is the day that I take my children to their mother’s home, so it seems a good day to rest, do a cleanse, and fast. I tend to do a lot of reading and watching movies.
My cleanse is very basic, inexpensive, and practical. I use Magesium Citrate. Then I drink a mixture of psyllium husk and bentonite clay. Last but not least, either Milk Thistle or Turmeric for the liver. Add to that at least a gallon of water.
I’m not sure how much I buy into the whole cleansing thing, but I figure it gives the ol’ colon a good cleaning, at the very least.
At the health food store I frequent, there was a young lady working there who’s hobby it seemed was to do cleanses. She liked to buy very expensive cleansing products. I found the whole thing funny and I snickered whenever she was explaining to me in descriptive detail, the benefits of the produts. I guess in some ways, I’m just a big kid. She did turn me onto the Magnesium Citrate supplement I’m using, called Natural Calm. It literally does make you feel calm (and I’m guessing this may be due to the fact that Magnesium is needed for conversion of tryptophan to seratonin, as per my previous post).
My cleanse literally costs about a dollar per time.
